Why Is The NFL Probowl Played A Week Before The Superbowl?

Stupidity, LoL...They don't want it to interfere with Basketball, I guess... The people who schedule show's on tv, think that this game is not important enough and they don't want it to interfere with other show's (Basketball Season). Its a good way to get players (Minnesota) injured who may be playing at the Super Bowl, or maybe not.

Cheaper by the dozen,money,cost of doing business with the stations. In other words they made a deal with the broadcaster/station and if they make a contract for all the sporting events to be shown on these stations they get a better deal/price break. Money money money.

It usually isn't.  This is the first time that I know of. After the Superbowl, no one is interested until the next season. In baseball, the pro game is played around July 4, during the middle of the season and is more interesting.  I guess they also want higher ad revenue

For the showdown, just to see who's best.

Well, If you ask me...the league is trying to keep an interest in that game...because when the super bowl is over....everybody had about enough football and the ratings just weren't there for pro-bowl after the Super...

Im not that sure but im a girl! Haha! I would think that they do that so they have not so many days to figure out who is the best so they can actually hurry up and make up their minds! Haha! Well, hope this helped!
