Should be discouraged because it lessens a quality that makes that antique desirable
The higher the price of an antique, the greater people's expectation that the object is rare. That, in turn, makes the antique appear more valuable?
I believe the ending should have been: That it turn, seems more valuable to the buyer. Either way, no. It would cause the buyer suspicion. A buyer would would then look for proof of age, to warrant the price.
