The 1957 5 ptas is a five-peseta coin from Spain. The peseta was the original currency of Spain before the European Union introduced the new controversial and problematic Euro. The answer to your question will depend hugely on the condition that it is in, and the year of mintage for the coin you own. The 1957 date actually refers to the date of authorisation of the coin, and the mintage date will be found on the back of the coin. You will see this date incused in a star on the left of the eagle. You’ll no doubt have to use a magnifying glass to see it, given that it’s so small.

The date will be found in the form of two digits, obviously beginning with ‘19.' The number after 19 will be between ‘58’ and ‘75.’ It’s also perfectly plausible that on your coin, there will be a ‘BA’ instead of the normal state. The BA date is worth around $100 as long as it’s in a very good condition. This is according to the Standard Catalog of World Coins. If the coin is in a mint condition (excuse the pun), you can expect more, with up to $225 offered if you own it in uncirculated condition. Moreover, with brilliant uncirculated condition, the BA coin will reach $300.

With a couple of exceptions, the other dates will be worth less than $1 in value unless you own them in an uncirculated condition, or better. The exceptions mentioned include the 1963 coin, which is worth $15 in very fine condition, and 1958, 1961 and 1963 coins which are worth around $3 in the same condition.
