Walt Case, in a video locatable on Youtube, is the owner of Card Traders, in Austin, Texas. Prudently he argues that the worth of the card depends on what kind of Mickey Mantle card you have. Many Mickey Mantle reprint cards range in price of one to two dollars all the way up to 10 to 15 dollars. When you go back to the vintage cards from the fifties, then you start to see true value in Mickey Mantle cards. Like any collectible, condition, Case argues, is important too; the better the condition of the card, the higher the price of the card, and the more in demand that card might be. Mickey Mantle's probably most valuable card would be his 1952 Topps card, which many people think is a rookie card but is in fact a second-year card. If you find that card in really, really pristine condition, which is almost impossible, that card could be well in excess of twenty to thirty thousand dollars. In the video, Case locates a 1957 Topps card, Case says that as it is a good condition it will "probably bring in the neighborhood of 900 to 1,000 dollars on the market today." The most important thing that determines the price of the card is its condition. Case adds that you must check that your budget can stretch to a vintage card, concluding that "it is something very worthwhile in having, and I think would [be] a valued addition to your collection." Mantle is sometimes pictured on cards with other players; these are multi-player cards.
