If two coins are tossed, there is a space of four possible results...

[ heads, heads]

[ heads, tails ]

[ tails, heads ]

[ tails, tails ]

...so there is a one in four (25%) chance of the result being both heads.

Similarly, there is a one in four chance of both coins showing tails. There is a 50% chance ( 2 in 4) that the result will be one coin head and the other tails.

To elaborate a bit, if you're interested in the probably of a result of heads+tails, and don't care which individual coin out of the two being tossed is heads or tails, there is a 50% chance that tossing two coins will yield a combination of both heads and tails.
