Yes there are some half dollars that are worth tens of thousands of dollars in horrible condition, and hundreds of thousands in good condition. The value of a half dollar depends on its mintmark (if any), condition, country of origin, dates, etc. If they are old (pre-1950's) then I would bring them to a coin dealer if they are older then that, then you might as well cash them in for their face value.
