The "Precision" or "Precision Deluxe" sewing machine company was a Japanese company who copied Singer models of sewing machines.  The "Homestead" tag is just a stencil; I believe these machines were shipped without any labels except the "Precision" tag, and the dealer put on their own tags.  I have a few of these Precision machines... A Monarch, a Hess Home Electric, and a Brother, and they're all the same.  If you have a Precision machine, KEEP IT!  They sew wonderfully when they're in good working order, are extremely easy to repair or maintain, and they take all the same inexpensive parts as a run-of-the-mill Singer low-shank machine.  I'm a professional corset maker, and I refuse to do my work on any of the other 6 machines I have.  Enjoy it!

Yes,  I am sitting with one right now.  It only sews straight, no zig zag.  Sews great and is strong.  At this time, I am having trouble remembering how to thread the top.
For an oldie, I think it's a beautiful machine, and I know it can perform long hours and sews great.

Yes, actually my Mother (a retired seamstress) just bought one for $9 at a Goodwill Store in Maryland.  It is like brand new, no signs of wear at all but it is an older model.  Looks like the old black Singer with gold painting.  It is labeled Hochschild Kohn & Co with another metal tag that says Precision Sewing Machine Co. Made in Japan #H306831?  It runs and purrs like a kitten!  She is so excited.  Just wonder how old it is?  We were told the Hochschild Kohn & Co was an old Department Store in Baltimore Maryland that closed down in the early 80's.
