The 'New Home' brand of sewing machines was bought by a Japanese company, Janome, in 1960. Despite this, Janome has a website specifically for US customers.

Janome.com is their main website, and they even have a Facebook page too (https://www.facebook.com/JanomeSewingMachines)

The Memory 7 Model 5000 was the first sewing machine in the world to provide computerized functions and there are many models still going strong today. If you need assistance with your New Home sewing machine (for example, you may have lost the manual or need a spare part) then try one of the following sites:

  • tias.com (downloadable manual)
  • homeappliance.manualsonline.com (as above)
  • sewingpartsonline.com (spare parts)
  • patternreview.com (forum for general sewing chat)
  • gonesewing.com (spare parts)

The Janome website also has a page devoted to the model 5001.

If your sewing machine ever breaks down, the problem might be easy to fix too. There are a number of tutorial films on YouTube that can help, such as this one:
