Bronze has a low value as it is copper mixed with aluminum, so there you go, easily accessible metals are not worth much.  Back in the eighties, a guy tried to corner the silver market.  This is after gold went up.  Many people bought into his idea and lost tons of money because silver is easily found and recyclable.  Copper has lost most of it's value due to fibre optics, using glass as a substitute for communications.   Once, copper was in high demand for coils, etc.  But no longer needed and glass can be extracted from sand
