I don't know if this makes me look a bit geeky, but I used to play Magic the Gathering a lot when I was younger, and I loved it. Maybe you could try your hand at that?
Slapjack is the only one I can think of, the other being Uno, and the rest requiring more than two players... Another fun thing to do is make a card tower!
Spit or Speed. We used to have tournaments with my cousins. Two of my cousins still have a Spit tournament every year. With bragging rights for the whole year. We are a competitive bunch.
