Richardson went from the the Kansas City Chiefs to the Minnesota Vikings. He had been with the Chiefs for 12 years. Originally, from Auburn, he was a free agent drafted by the chiefs in 1995. While, playing with the Kansas City Chiefs he established a special charity named Rich in Spirit, a Dictionary Project. through his Rich in Spirit program he continues to distribute free dictionaries to school children.

Signing with the MInnesota Vikings for 2006 season as a fullback he played in nine games before breaking his arm and injuring his thumb. During the time he was sidelined he did a lot charity work for various organizations.

He spends his off-season in charity appearances, visiting the less fortunate and speaking engagements.
One of the favorite statements among team players is, "Richardson is always up to something."

As of Feb. 20th 2010 Mr. Richardson is alive and well and resides in the south suburbs of Illinois. I chatted briefly with Mr. Richardson after I inquired about the championship ring I noticed on his finger. He introduced himself and and explained to me he won it while playing for the Dallas Cowboys in 1971. I googled his name and stumbled upon this site.
